Touchdowns or Tutus: Baby Bacon Gender Reveal!

Gender reveal parties are always SO cute! I’ve never gotten to attend one and, obviously, have never thrown one. So I was REALLY excited when Casey and Jordan decided to have a gender reveal party to announce Branch’s sex!!! (BTW: No, the baby is not named Branch…it’s just a nickname until the baby is born. They are keeping the legit name a secret, once they actually 100% agree on a name haha).

I LOVE me some party planning but I try very hard to be mindful of taking things over. I told Casey I’d love to be part of the event in anyway she wanted me to be but did not overstep my boundaries 🙂 It’s her baby. Her party! I think I’m pretty good about that balance? We did have a fun afternoon one Saturday where we went out to lunch then hit up Hobby Lobby to buy supplies and I enjoyed helping her come up with ideas and such for the big event!!!

I thought the theme they came up with was super cute: Touchdowns or Tutus? I’d never heard of that theme before (and actually neither had Etsy or Pinterest which made it extra fun!) and it all came together super cute!!!

Casey and Jordan had the ultrasound scan done during that week but did not find out the sex at the appointment. Instead the tech put the results in an envelope and gave them to Casey’s good friend, Keeli, who also happens to work at the OB office. She was the only one who knew the sex!!! And she did AMAZING keeping the secret 🙂

Which will it be????

Of course I offered to let them have the party at our house. When we built our home one of the things that was most important to me was for our home to be a place where people gather and where we would do lots of entertaining. I love that we get to make so many great memories here with our family!

I have a sweet friend, Amy, who I met in college and who now does party printables! I helped hook her up with Casey and they came up with some SUPER cute stuff for the party! Be sure to check out her Facebook Page: Darley’s Darling Creations!

Welcome sign on the door

Everyone cast their vote and pinned them on a big bulletin board

We also got to make suggestions for baby names 😉

Banners!

Sweet pictures of Branch 🙂

Even the food fit the party theme! Duh, I loved it!

Casey found a big question mark piñata on Etsy and Keeli stuffed it with either blue filling or pink filling. It was a pull string type where Casey and Jordan could just pull the string down to reveal! OF COURSE the day of the party it’s totally rained. I mean that’s just the luck of our family…thankfully we have a banister on the second story of our house so Zach rigged up a way to hang the pinata from it so it could hang down to the first story. He hung it nice and high until it was time for the reveal to help prevent the children from ruining the moment by pulling the string too early 😉

The Secret Keeper, Keeli! 🙂

Branch’s cousins helping come up with names 🙂

Kye was SO excited about the party. He took it all very seriously! I let the kids decide which color they wanted to wear for the event. Kye insisted on wearing pink b/c he was very sure that Branch was a girl. He also would ONLY eat the pink food and drinks at the party and would only use the pink straw too 🙂 It was hilarious! I love that he gets so into themed stuff 🙂

Britt wanted to wear blue and I knew Jordan would appreciate the Georgia Tech colors 🙂

Jolee is ready for LOTS of babysitting days to come and practiced with Keeli’s adorable baby, Eli!

Reading out the name suggestions!

Precious boys!

HAHA someone suggested the name “Parker” I LOVE Jordan’s face. It says it all 🙂

Team BLUE!

Team PINK!

When Casey and I went shopping for the party supplies I was SO nervous about what to stuff the piñata with! I was scared that whatever was in it wouldn’t come out. Like if she used all tissue paper, what if it stuck to the sides of the piñata? And if she used all confetti what if when it fell no one could really see it? I talked her into buying a TON of blue random stuff and a TON of pink random stuff to make sure it’d be heavy enough to actually fall and obvious enough so everyone would know. It was my biggest concern with the whole event haha.

Time for the BIG MOMENT!!!!

Can you tell they are so excited?!?!

It’s a BOY!!!!

Haha I included this picture because in true Zach fashion he ran up and hugged Jordan before Casey could even get to her husband haha. Classic!

SO excited!!!

Keeli took a video of the reveal and you can watch it here!!! (I laugh every time about Zach grabbing Jordan haha)

Big Papa is thrilled about another grandson!

I think it’s pretty obvious huh? 😉

The “It’s a Boy!” Ultrasound Pictures!

This is like my favorite picture EVER. Casey’s face when she sees the “boy parts” CLASSIC!

I was soooo positive about Branch being a boy. And usually I’m NOT like that about gender baby stuff. And I’m ALWAYS wrong when I do guess. But I even had a $2 bet with Jordan’s aunt about it and won 🙂 His dad paid up for her haha!

Touchdowns it is!!!

Mema and Aunt Meryl

Casey loves be right haha

Big Daddy and Little Mama

Kye was pretty bummed about being wrong with his guess and he informed me that since Branch is a boy that Leo needs to be a girl!

Jordan’s parents! It’s their first grandchild and it was great that they were there for the big moment! They are SO excited 🙂

Zach might have even been more excited about the boy news than Jordan. He just knows what it’s like to have a son and is SO thrilled for Jordan to experience that!!!

Sick of my picture taking 😉

Baby “Branch” Bacon is already SO LOVED and it was SO awesome to see all the joy and excitement from everyone! Several people tried to talk us into finding out and doing a reveal too…but it ain’t gonna happen. I LOVED the party and thought it was AWESOME but it still can’t compete with that moment of birth and finding out the sex right when we get to actually hold our baby 🙂 I do have to say though that I think EVERYONE who does choose to find out the sex should totally do a gender reveal party! It makes it so much more exciting than just announcing it on Facebook or calling people!!!

I think one of my personal favorite things about the party was how into the planning process Casey was. Y’all. I am PUMPED about that. The Parker family has never been big on themed events and I’ve dealt with many an eye roll about my hardcoreness with planning things. With the way Casey went all out for this gender reveal party it makes me hopeful that maybe I have a fellow party planner in the family 🙂 I truly did LOVE getting to help her make her ideas come to life and would love nothing more than to be involved when we both plan our babies parties in the future 🙂
