I know everyone is ready for a house update and after my venting post yesterday you deserve it 😉 So here is a time line of what’s happened so far on the new house! (and a video Zach took early on during the building process of Kye) Enjoy!
Day lot became officially ours (sometime around Sept 9th)
The Parker Family property!
helping Big Papa clear the lot to make room for our home
earning that sweat equity
goodbye beautiful pecan tree 🙁
starting to frame
day before leaving for Big Canoe/Wedding/Jamaica trip (Sept 24th)
home from Jamaica (Oct 6th!)
Kye checkin’ out his new room
G-Mama enjoying the new house
Big Papa came by to do his own inspection on the work
Gramma – our future neighbor 😉
First fam pic on our front porch (10/6/10)!
view of family room looking out to backyard on 10/11
looking upstairs from living room
outside: windows and door in, roof started (10/14)
close up of the door and windows (door will be painted, colors to come soon!)
corner fireplace in family room (10/21)
seeing Kye next to it makes the 8ft door look HUGE
first “issue” with building process: for some reason we weren’t told to pick out our tubs and showers and we had planned to get a shower with a little seat in it so I can shave my legs yet this shower was installed without our opinion
We’re okay with the shower/tub combos in the other bathrooms (and we REALLY like the hardware choices on all of them)
fireplace in! (10/22)
lucky for us they replaced the shower with the one we wanted for free 🙂
insulation in and sheet rock going up! View from family room to upstairs balcony (10/30)
these are the archways looking from family room to kitchen (under-the-stairs pantry is in-between the two arches on the left). Another arch will be on the hallway towards our bedroom from the family room as well as from the family room to breakfast nook at the bottom of the stairs!
our room – double trey ceilings make the ceiling height 11ft
our bathroom overlooking backyard
roof done, siding going up! (click to make bigger to see siding better)
Supposedly we’ll be in before Christmas…I know not to get my hopes set on this as I’ve heard that contractors say you’ll be in your new house by a certain date but that in all actuality you don’t move in until a totally different date. But I’m hopeful 😉
