Here is Tess’s summary from August!

Tess LOVES to play with toys! She loves Little People and Disney figurines. She mostly just gets them ALL out and lines them up and talks to them πŸ™‚ Britt hasn’t ever really been super into toys so Tess reminds me a lot more of Kye in this area!

Smart girl standing in front of the fan πŸ™‚

She also really enjoys the play kitchen in the playroom and loves to “cook”

Puzzles are still among her favorites! She can do them all on her own and very quickly so she and I play games making them a little “tricker” by talking about colors, animal sounds, letters etc associated with the pieces.

She is my only child to ever ask for me to play with her hair…def like her mama!

She loves her play makeup!

And I had a big self debate this month over gymnastics for her because she started doing little “gymnastics tricks” all the time like Britt does and she just LOVES it! We did decide to sign her up due to a spot being free during Britt’s same time slot…more on that in September’s post!

This month Tess got to stay up a little later and join in on family game time for the first time! It’s a struggle for me to think about her being big enough to join in on game time. I feel like Britt just started but I’m actually pretty sure Britt started when Tess was born which means Tess is already older than Britt was when she started playing with us! I guess we need to make the leap and let her join in but it’s a tough one for me as I still look at her as a baby πŸ˜‰

She loved it so much she asked to play again the next day!

Sweet church friends πŸ™‚

For her last day of summer we had some swim time! Tess LOVES the water and LOVES to swim and is a little FISH!

She’s done AMAZING at school this year. It’s so funny b/c last year she’d cry and cry at drop off and now? She cries on the days she doesn’t go to school b/c she wishes she could go!

One of her assignments the first week was to bring a few items to describe herself to the class. I told her to pick 4 things and this is what she chose…which doesn’t belong? haha!

It kept getting funnier and funnier as she chose items to bring. I even took this video!

Tess loves checking her folder every day and has done SO well with school! No issues at ALL (at least yet!).

I can’t believe she’s old enough to be learning memory verses πŸ™‚

She loves getting dressed for school and asks to wear “her scarf” ha!

It feels SO WEIRD to ONLY have Tess for drop off now! What’s even crazier is I did the math and we’ll actually have a year OFF from preschool between when Tess leaves and Tab starts. That’s CRAZY!

Tess often takes a long time to fall asleep at naps (NORMAL AT THIS AGE YALL. It doesn’t mean you should stop napping!) and sometimes I feel bad waking her…

…but then I regret letting her sleep too long b/c this is what I deal with the rest of the day!

Tess loves when she’s awake early enough to run out with me and meet the kids off the bus! She’s always so excited to see them (but especially Britt).

We surprised the kids to eat lunch at school and Tess was SO PROUD carrying her lunch box and getting to eat with the big kids πŸ˜‰

Her school called me one day to pick her up b/c her temp was 99. Which is SO random to me? She was FINE. So we walked around Hobby Lobby together πŸ˜‰

She’s my errand buddy and is always so well behaved in public and I secretly just love going places with her because of all the joy she brings to others and all the compliments on how adorable she is πŸ˜‰

I got these and the kids LOVE them! Totally can’t tell they have vegetables in ’em!

Sometimes we get “coffee” and by “coffee” I mean a free chocolate milkshake I got from the McDonald’s App haha!

Her favorite place πŸ˜‰

She is super silly now and very giggly and talkative. She’s really coming into her own personality BIG TIME and isn’t nearly as quiet and chill as she used to be (although still very quiet and chill)!

She loves being responsible and is really starting to do well at this whole big kid thing. She’ll def be ready when it’s time to be a big sister! She makes her own bed…

and gets herself dressed!

She’s obsessed with eating things and then asking what color her tongue is. Then correcting us and telling us it’s actually a different color than we tell her πŸ˜‰

She has a sweet, sweet Daddy and they have become a lot closer since St Augustine! He loves to be the one to go in if she gets upset at night or has a bad dream πŸ™‚

Videos from this Month:

This girl is such a light in our lives and is going to be a fantastic big sister! She’s growing up and is so beautiful and sweet and now silly too!

Tess Monthly Summary: August

This is Tess’s first monthly summary! No more counting to figure out how many months old she is πŸ˜‰ The next time I’ll have to do detailed posts will be newborn weekly ones when Tab enters our lives!

This was Tess’s first month of being TWO. AND she kicked it off with starting school for the first time! It was def an adjustment for her as it’s tough for her to leave Mommy but she really likes it and is SO HAPPY when I pick her up. She’s also so stinking adorable trying to carry the huge book bag herself!

Her very first piece of school work πŸ™‚

I love that she only goes to school two mornings a week so I have three mornings a week to enjoy her still and get that one-on-one time together. I also love that she doesn’t go on Fridays so we can hit up the Friday Frolic with Carter πŸ™‚

Tess is in a HUGE puzzle phase which is wonderful! She’s gotten SUPER good at getting out a puzzle then putting it away before taking out another one! It’s taken some work but now I feel okay letting her in the cabinet by herself πŸ˜‰

She also still does fabulous at independent playtime in the pack and play. I know I waited a LONG time for room time with Britt and I plan to just keep the pack and play game going as long as possible with Tess too πŸ™‚

Tess is the kid that clings to me the most but she’s also my most independent child yet. She wants to do everything the big kids do and wants to do it HERSELF. It can be a struggle when we are in a hurry or when things are just a bit above her skill level. Practicing that patience πŸ˜‰

Helping Kye water the plants

Dressing Zeke up in necklaces πŸ˜‰

Having her first slushie (and it’s such a massive cup!!!)

Sitting like a big girl at the bar for breakfast

Tess LOVES to wake up Britt after naps πŸ™‚

One of those frustrating independent things: insisting on going down the stairs without help

Tess LOVES walks and will get so excited when I say it’s walk time!

Grandpa and Grammie brought her a lion and she calls it “Baby Lion” and LOVES IT

More About Tess:

  • The first thing she does when she wakes up is cry out for Britt
  • She copies EVERYTHING the big kids say
  • She knows both the color green and pink
  • She often counts backwards usually 5, 4, 3 etc
  • She says “thank” for “thank you”

Videos:

I found some older pics this month and couldn’t get over how Kye’s cry face is JUST LIKE TESS’S cry face (and omg Zach and I ARE SO YOUNG)

It’s crazy to me to think that THIS is KYE. I think the negative of having lots of kids is it’s hard to remember each child individually at certain ages as clearly!

Hello Tess πŸ˜‰ She’s def her Mama’s child!
