Here is Tess’s summary from August!
Tess LOVES to play with toys! She loves Little People and Disney figurines. She mostly just gets them ALL out and lines them up and talks to them π Britt hasn’t ever really been super into toys so Tess reminds me a lot more of Kye in this area!
Smart girl standing in front of the fan π
She also really enjoys the play kitchen in the playroom and loves to “cook”
Puzzles are still among her favorites! She can do them all on her own and very quickly so she and I play games making them a little “tricker” by talking about colors, animal sounds, letters etc associated with the pieces.
She is my only child to ever ask for me to play with her hair…def like her mama!
And I had a big self debate this month over gymnastics for her because she started doing little “gymnastics tricks” all the time like Britt does and she just LOVES it! We did decide to sign her up due to a spot being free during Britt’s same time slot…more on that in September’s post!
This month Tess got to stay up a little later and join in on family game time for the first time! It’s a struggle for me to think about her being big enough to join in on game time. I feel like Britt just started but I’m actually pretty sure Britt started when Tess was born which means Tess is already older than Britt was when she started playing with us! I guess we need to make the leap and let her join in but it’s a tough one for me as I still look at her as a baby π
She loved it so much she asked to play again the next day!
Sweet church friends π
For her last day of summer we had some swim time! Tess LOVES the water and LOVES to swim and is a little FISH!
She’s done AMAZING at school this year. It’s so funny b/c last year she’d cry and cry at drop off and now? She cries on the days she doesn’t go to school b/c she wishes she could go!
One of her assignments the first week was to bring a few items to describe herself to the class. I told her to pick 4 things and this is what she chose…which doesn’t belong? haha!
It kept getting funnier and funnier as she chose items to bring. I even took this video!
Tess loves checking her folder every day and has done SO well with school! No issues at ALL (at least yet!).
I can’t believe she’s old enough to be learning memory verses π
She loves getting dressed for school and asks to wear “her scarf” ha!
It feels SO WEIRD to ONLY have Tess for drop off now! What’s even crazier is I did the math and we’ll actually have a year OFF from preschool between when Tess leaves and Tab starts. That’s CRAZY!
Tess often takes a long time to fall asleep at naps (NORMAL AT THIS AGE YALL. It doesn’t mean you should stop napping!) and sometimes I feel bad waking her…
…but then I regret letting her sleep too long b/c this is what I deal with the rest of the day!
Tess loves when she’s awake early enough to run out with me and meet the kids off the bus! She’s always so excited to see them (but especially Britt).
We surprised the kids to eat lunch at school and Tess was SO PROUD carrying her lunch box and getting to eat with the big kids π
Her school called me one day to pick her up b/c her temp was 99. Which is SO random to me? She was FINE. So we walked around Hobby Lobby together π
She’s my errand buddy and is always so well behaved in public and I secretly just love going places with her because of all the joy she brings to others and all the compliments on how adorable she is π
I got these and the kids LOVE them! Totally can’t tell they have vegetables in ’em!
Sometimes we get “coffee” and by “coffee” I mean a free chocolate milkshake I got from the McDonald’s App haha!
Her favorite place π
She is super silly now and very giggly and talkative. She’s really coming into her own personality BIG TIME and isn’t nearly as quiet and chill as she used to be (although still very quiet and chill)!
She loves being responsible and is really starting to do well at this whole big kid thing. She’ll def be ready when it’s time to be a big sister! She makes her own bed…
and gets herself dressed!
She’s obsessed with eating things and then asking what color her tongue is. Then correcting us and telling us it’s actually a different color than we tell her π
She has a sweet, sweet Daddy and they have become a lot closer since St Augustine! He loves to be the one to go in if she gets upset at night or has a bad dream π
