Meeting Santa

On Thursday December 22nd we decided to take the kids up to Steel’s to meet Santa! It’s a yearly tradition and I LOVE going to Steel’s because it’s so laid back and FREE. 🙂 I didn’t have anything for Brittlynn to wear and Crissy was sweet enough to let us borrow this precious dress. I’m sure Olive will be wearing it for her first Valentine’s Day since she’ll be a week old then and it’s neat that Brittlynn got to wear it to meet Santa!

I snapped a few pictures in front of our tree before leaving

Kye has been very excited to meet Santa. For like the past 6 months I’ve been telling him that instead of telling Mommy all the things he wants he will have to wait to tell Santa. It’s great because he will now say “I’m gonna tell Santa that I want that!” Takes away from the whole begging for junk all the time from me 😉 Thank you Santa! I didn’t tell him we were going to meet Santa until after he got up from his nap, but he was very excited. We discussed what he was going to tell Santa that he wanted for Christmas! Right when we got there he went through his little speech for Santa. You can see it here in this video! While he was happy about Santa, he was confused about where Santa’s reindeer were. He’s all about the reindeer 🙂

He asked Santa for a choo choo and cars. It’s was cute because he came back later to Santa and said “I already have a choo choo I just want another one.”

Santa’s looking a little funky here, but Kye’s too cute to delete it!

Santa LOVED Brittlynn

I love this for two reasons: 1. Britt is loving Santa’s beard with her sweet hand, and 2. Kye is totally making an Emily face!

Family pics with Santa

Brittlynn’s first time meeting Santa

Hallie Green had been born the Monday before we met Santa so we took advantage of being dressed and ready and having people available to take photos for us and did our family picture with our Hope for Hallie signs! About 200 people posted signs on the Facebook Group in honor of Hallie and it was an awesome thing to be part of…you can join the group (which is now Hope FROM Hallie!) here! Please continue to pray for The Green’s and donate to the funds to help carry on Hallie’s legacy.

Steel’s did a gift card giveaway on their Facebook page where if you posted a video of your child singing Christmas carols you’d get a $50 store credit! Duh, I took advantage of that deal! And Kye was totally a little celeb up there…everyone kept talking to him about his version of Jingle Bells. After we met Santa I did a little shopping (I wanted to get Brittlynn her first jewelry!) while Daddy watched the babies 🙂

She slept in her Daddy’s arms the whole time I shopped

When we got home we were ALL in the Christmas spirit. Zach had the idea to have more family time and watch a Christmas movie while I nursed Brittlynn at her next feeding time. I bought our family the whole collection of the classic Christmas movies so we watched “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” together. I don’t even ever remember seeing that one as a kid so it was new to me too.

I think she found the movie rather boring 😉

Every year around the holidays we typically drink a TON of hot cocoa but we just hadn’t this year. Zach thought it’d make the night even more fun by making some for us all. We’ve never allowed Kye to have anything to drink other than plain white milk, water, or juice (only a blend of v8 fushion and green machine though). I agreed to let him have one cup of cocoa with us as long as he understood it was a one time thing. He did GREAT with it. He enjoyed his cup then never has brought it up again 🙂

He was so excited about his “special Christmas drink”

The guys with their cocoa!

Technically we all really did drink some since Brittlynn nurses and drinks whatever I eat right?

Since I was actually semi-okay looking I wanted a couple pics of Britt and I!

Enjoying our family night under our beautiful tree

The fun thing about traditions is that you can go back through the yeaars and see yourselves doing the same things again and again! You can see Kye’s first time meeting Santa here (poor kid with that HAIR!) and you can see his second time meeting him here 🙂

#1:  These pictures with Santa are very cute… we got some of Hannah and him also!  #2:  I think it's awesome that you've trained Kye not to be one of those kids who WHINE and BEG one million times to do something again when it was just a one time thing.  #3:  "Looking Semi-ok", girl please, you look GREAT in this picture, your skin looks amazing!  Just wanted to throw in my two (or three) cents… have a great day!!!
