Father’s Day 2014

Reminder! Tonight ends the big Halo SleepSack giveaway! Be sure to go here to enter!!!

Each year for Father’s Day I like to have the kids do a craft project for the father’s in our lives. I feel bad because the mother figures rarely get any kind of project around Mother’s Day haha. This year I decided to take a simple route with the crafts. But really they turned out to be probably some of the cutest! I just bought frames from Hobby Lobby and then the kids had fun doing paint on them! Simple, cheap (frames were $2 each!) and a gift the guys will actually enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

We made four frames total…one for Daddy, one for Big Papa, one for Grandpa and one for Big Daddy!

We used both q-tips and our fingers for the dots!

Finished products! I LOVE this picture of them from our recent beach trip and knew the men we love would enjoy it too!

With our little family we always make a big deal out of Father’s Day and Mother’s Day and spend an entire weekend, typically, in celebration. This year was no different! The Friday of Father’s Day weekend we kicked things off with a feast in the dining room (Kye LOVES to have feasts and eat in the dining room!). We also surprised Daddy with an AWESOME (and easy!) dessert. I found it on Pinterest! Def one we will make again ๐Ÿ™‚

The next morning we headed to CFA for breakfast and then played our annual family round of golf. You can see the post all about it here

Britt was VERY upset when it came time for her and I to leave the golf course so the guys could have their father/son time together. It was still very early in the morning and still nice and cool out which is SUCH a rare thing for the summer in South Georgia! So I suggested that we go to a playground to play. Being pregnant and it being so hot…we haven’t gone to the playground much this summer so it was a treat and we had a great time!

The guys also had a blast golfing together! As I mentioned before, it ended up being Zach’s best ever score (I think it was a 73? Maybe 72? I can’t remember…bad wife…).

When we finished up with the playground Mama needed a treat ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have I mentioned that my children are LOVING this whole pregnancy junk food eating thing?!?! They have had more treats in this summer than they have their entire lives haha. Britt and I stopped and got slushies! It was her first one ever and it was the perfect fun thing to do ๐Ÿ™‚

She even shared with Donald ๐Ÿ™‚

I sent Zach a text to rub it in his face haha

So of course they also got slushies and got the bigger sizes haha

Once we got home Britt and I had some sticker fun and then she watched a little bit of a movie before lunch and nap time. Even though it was a day all about Daddy…we snuck in some mega fun girl time together which I enjoyed!

After naps we went ahead and did presents before going to dinner!

They made Daddy lots of pictures and the frame too!

We hooked him up with some new golf clothes (his favorite gift to get…the guy loves to be stylish at the golf course!) and some sports watches to match all his golf outfits.

Daddy got to pick where we went to dinner and surprisingly we did NOT go to Longhorns! Since we do have such a large gift card for there from Aflac…it makes sense to save it and use it once the baby comes. I figured Zach could pick it up to go on his birthday since we will have a pretty new baby at that point ๐Ÿ˜‰ I told him to try to pick a place he loves that we won’t be able to get to eat for awhile and he chose Wooden Nickel which is a popular local place!

They have a lot of games there! We didn’t have any cash so we couldn’t legit play but we enjoyed just pretending ๐Ÿ™‚

The kids and Zach invented some game with the pool table they enjoyed!

And I went to the bathroom and realized my tummy had totally popped!

One of the things Zach loves most about that restaurant are the fried mushrooms. It SHOCKED us that the kids tore them up!

We had a super fun day celebrating Zach and enjoying family time together! For legit Father’s Day Zach likes to attend his childhood church where most of his family still currently attends. So we headed out there that morning to be with Big Daddy and Mr. Rusty on Father’s Day!

After church we went to Mrs. Charlotte’s and just spent the entire afternoon over there. Casey had just had Carter a couple weeks prior so it was easiest for them to go to Mrs. Charlotte’s and really it worked out awesome. Zach LOVED just relaxing at his parents house as usually we are in a rush when we go over there! He loved it so much that we made plans to do something similar for him for his 30th birthday…since it’ll be our turn with a newborn it would make it an easy way to celebrate for sure!

Britt napped but the older kids stayed up and ate a big lunch with the adults and did gifts! I thought Kye did so great writing in Big Papa’s card!

Carter’s first holiday!

Jordan’s first Father’s Day!

Zach enjoys taking random pictures with my camera and ever-so-often he captures some really great candids! I love these!!!

Always telling a story ๐Ÿ™‚

Listening to Big Daddy ๐Ÿ™‚

Big Daddy LOVED his frame and has it sitting right by the spot where he eats ๐Ÿ™‚

Three generations ๐Ÿ™‚

We are so blessed to have so many amazing father figures in our lives! How many kids know their great-grandfather?!?! I never got to meet any of mine and my kids adore Big Daddy! We also called my dad and he loved his frame and the pictures the kids made for him as well! I hate we don’t get to visit often but we are looking forward to seeing him when the baby arrives!

It was a great Father’s Day and Zach had a wonderful weekend! I feel really bad that the newborn will trump his big 30th birthday so I really, really wanted him to have an amazing Father’s Day and it was flawless!
