Casey and Jordan Maternity Pictures

Now that I have a nice camera and a decent knowledge of how to use it, I’ve offered myself up anytime family or friends need some non-professional level pictures ๐Ÿ˜‰ I personally believe the photography market is flooded with people who have a camera, some basic skills, and then say they are a “photographer.” I am NOT one of those people. Y’all know I’m pretty dang loyal about getting professional images done of our family. I think it’s SUPER important for people to do! And I encourage you to get a legit photographer to take them (y’all know I love me some Captured by Colson!). But I know that everyone is not like me. And that getting professional pictures may not be high up on the list of priorities. So I figure me snapping some pics for people who wouldn’t usually have any pictures is better than them not getting the photos they can hold onto for years to come, ya know? Zach’s family as a whole has never been into pictures and I’m trying to change that haha!

I took some pics back when Casey and Jordan announced their pregnancy and I offered to take some more for them once she was far enough along for maternity pics! I’m pretty insecure about my skill set but feel very comfortable with both Casey and Jordan so it makes it easier ๐Ÿ˜‰ And I told her that as long as she knew what she wanted, I would gladly take them! Thank you Pinterest for giving us ideas of what to do ๐Ÿ™‚

Casey wanted to go downtown to take some so we went there first. And saw like 10 other people taking pictures there too. AWKWARD. I told Casey I felt like I needed a sign that said “I AM NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER!” It was also funny b/c several people told Casey “congrats!” as they walked by on her pregnancy so I said “thank you” too haha.

I took like 1,000 pictures in a mega short span of time. I’m a believer in taking a million and then sorting through and finding the good ones. If you take a ton you’re bound to end up with something you like, right? Here are some of my favorites from the downtown pics!

Yes, a baby doll head on the end of a sword. CREEPY!

30 weeks pregnant! It shouldn’t be allowed to be this beautiful while pregnant (especially with your first baby!!!)

On the way home that week I noticed one of the fields near our neighborhood had beautiful flowers in bloom. We went back there and they did a quick outfit change to finish out the pics! I wish I’d been further along at this point b/c it would have been a great place for me to get some pics too!

We might have been fearful of snakes hahaha

The whole thing from start to finish took us under an hour haha! We were quick with it and Casey made it easy for me b/c she really did have so many ideas of what she wanted ๐Ÿ™‚ I do well with instruction! I cannot IMAGINE how stressful it is to be a photographer and to take pictures for pay. I mean I was mega insecure and nervous about these and I did it for free and the subjects of the photos are two of my closets friends haha. Strangers? For Pay? Especially a wedding? There is NO WAY I could handle that pressure!!! Overall I think they turned out great though! I know I never have used my maternity photos for anything…but they are a nice thing to have and Casey and Jordan both seemed really happy with them too which made my heart happy! Can’t wait to take some Carter pics here soon! I wish they’d let me in the delivery room with them! ๐Ÿ˜‰
