Introducing: My First Link-Up!!!

It’s no secret that I LOVE blogging. I truly, truly wish it’d been around (or at least that I’d know about it) longer. I’m so thankful that I started blogging when I first got pregnant with Kye. I now have every detail of my life as a parent well documented. I can print it off into books for my children (and maybe even their children!) to read. I truly am so grateful for that!!!

However, I also wish I could have had the opportunity to blog about my life prior to parenting. Because, well, a lot of great stuff happened during those years too. I wish I had all of that documented. I wish I could make all of that into books for my children to read. So they could know not just their stories, but MY story too. And all the moments in my life that have created the woman they know as “Mom.”

For over two years now I’ve wanted to start hosting a blog link-up. I even created a button for it back in Feb 2011. Yeah I know. Crazy that I kept putting it off. But, as you all know, I always feel like I’m behind in my blogging and I didn’t want to start something without being “caught up.” Well I’m over that now. I’ve accepted the fact that I’m just always going to be behind. And that’s okay. For safety reasons, I’m kinda thankful for it 🙂 I feel safer knowing that not everyone in the world will know exactly where we are or what we’re doing when we’re doing it. All of you learn about it after the fact (after the picture stealing scare this is a good thing!).

I first came up with this idea when many of my friends all got engaged. I encouraged them to start blogging as being a bride was one of THE happiest times in my own life and I wish I’d had a blog back then!!! I thought it’d be fun to host a link-up every week. A chance for all of us to go back in time and blog about parts of our lives that we want to remember prior to our blogging days! I thought it’d be a fun way to get to know each other better and maybe meet some new blog friends too 🙂

Even if no one else joins in I plan to try to do this every Friday. (And FYI Rachael I told you my idea long before you did your own version of it haha) 😉 I wanted to give a heads up that it will be starting THIS FRIDAY! So pull out your scanners, browse through old Facebook albums, and share a story from your pre-blogging past!!!

I’m not going to have certain themes or anything like that. No special rules to follow or guidelines. Just post anything you want and link-up to your post on my weekly post each Friday! If you do join in I think it’d be super nice to also check out some other people’s posts and leave a comment to make their day. Doesn’t getting a comment on your blog make your day a little brighter? I know it does mine!

I’ve created a button for this link-up. I know when I participate in any link-up I like to give credit to the blog where I’m posting the link, it’d be great if anyone participating would copy and paste the code into the blog post you’re sharing to help spread the word about this link-up!!! (And yes, it’s a baby picture of me…anyone see a Brittlynn resemblance?)

I am excited to have my first “flashback” story be about the day Zach proposed to me. Why not start this thing off with THE happiest day of my life??? I know some of you have asked about our love story…I’ve had fun already digging up the old pics and getting to relive such a special time in my life. I’m super pumped to see your stories as well!!!

Looking forward to Friday!!!

LOVE this idea! I will definitely be participating. I will try to think of a Flashback Friday of my own this week. Maybe I will try to do something similar on my blog on a different day of each week. I am trying to put myself out there in the blogging community a little more and this is a great way to do it. Thanks for heading this up!

This sounds like fun! How do I link up; just copy the picture link to my post?
