Brandi and Ryan’s Wedding

Brandi and I recently became friends through both Crissy and Ashley. They all worked together back in the day at Applebees ๐Ÿ™‚ She is SUPER sweet and I’m excited about getting to know her better in the future. I have been counting down for her wedding day as I knew it was gonna be awesome. It didn’t disappoint!

The same Saturday as the Honeybee Festival Kye got up from his nap and we got ready for the wedding. Being close to 8 months pregnant and taking a toddler to a wedding on my own typically wouldn’t seem like a good idea…but Daddy was working on that storage shed and I did not want to slow him down! Kye really understood where we were going and kept saying “we’re going to a wedding and we have to be quiet when the man is talkin.” Such a smartie!

The ceremony was in downtown Valdosta, outside, at a location called Benny’s Ally. It’s a super pretty spot and SUCH a unique idea!!! Kye and I enjoyed the walk and ran into our friends right when we got there.

Yay for the Megows!

Doesn’t Crissy look beautiful?!?!

The ceremony started and it was so unique and beautiful. I LOVED all the dresses and the pretty balloons!

Amelie, Brandi and Ryan’s daughter. I’m not sure who is carrying her…probably someones mom?

Kye stayed quiet through the whole thing – snacks helped for sure

I loved the surroundings of the ceremony…the courthouse was so pretty as were the vines crawling up the neighboring building. To add further to the view, Brandi made the cool backdrop!

so awesome!

wasn’t her head piece thing cool?

married!

Right when the ceremony ended the Megow family returned ๐Ÿ˜‰

(keeping one toddler quiet was tough enough – imagine THREE)

I wanted to get a couple of pictures together before heading to the reception

The reception was in a loft in downtown Valdosta. It was super awesome…but had no elevator. I had Kye’s stroller with me and had to lug it up two flights of stairs! Thankfully when Kye and I left I found a guy to carry the stroller down for me so I could help Kye down ๐Ÿ™‚

first dance

The food was awesome! They had this fantastic crab dip that I could have eaten all night and everything had a southern, country feel yet with a modern twist. I loved it! Kye really enjoyed the chocolate covered pretzels ๐Ÿ™‚

This was the most kid-friendly wedding I think I’ve ever been to! They handed out balloons and glow stick bracelets for the kids and all the music was kid appropriate. They encouraged the kids to dance and HAVE FUN and omg did they ever! Kye seriously would not slow down for a second and danced like a wild man the whole time we were there. It was PRECIOUS!!! Here’s a video I took of the kids showing off their dance moves.

It was GREAT to visit with Crissy and her gang as well as Ashley with baby Preston!

I really, really loved this wedding and can’t say enough good things about it. The whole vibe was just very relaxed and personable. The attention to detail was so obvious and it made you feel special that you go to be part of such an event. It’s what every bride hopes to achieve on her wedding day…and Brandi did it! I loved the wedding mad libs and totally hope Casey does something like it for her wedding in March.

here’s the pretty cake

and these awesome decorations that Brandi made herself!

We didn’t get to stay long since Kye had to get to bed, but we had a BLAST. Kye was mega upset when it was time to leave (but I couldn’t stay past dark…walking to my car alone downtown was scary enough at dusk!) and was excited to tell Daddy all about it when we got home. I couldn’t get over how much our kid loved dancing and how crazy hyper he was the whole time. It caught me off guard and gave me a good workout chasing him around the dance floor all evening!

I hope that Brandi and Ryan enjoyed their special day as much as the rest of us did! Congrats guys!
