Blitzen’s 2nd Baby Shower

Courtney and Casey threw my second baby shower for Blitzen on Oct 29th. They hosted it at Mrs. Charlotte’s house and it turned out SO awesome!!!! I loved the theme (winter, Blitzen theme!) and the food was mega yummy. Especially the donut cake from Daylight Donuts!

Station where everyone got to make a Christmas ornament for Blitzen!

Mom and Liz hard at work on their ornaments

Wasn’t that an adorable idea??

Little Mama was PRECIOUS about hers…she took it very seriously

Lindsey’s cute one for Blitzen’s tree! I plan to have them all up on the tree for the holidays in the nursery!

Little Mama’s masterpiece πŸ˜‰

I LOVE that each guest got to give a personalized present to the baby.

This shower was a (mostly) family shower. I invited both sides of the family as well as friends from church. I was really, really thankful for the great turn out! We had about 15 people there and it was a BLAST. Casey and Courtney seriously stepped up their party hosting game and had so many fun, creative ideas!

Best game was for sure the Pin the Sperm on the Egg game!

We were all CRACKING UP the whole game!

Liz’s turn πŸ˜‰

For SURE Blitzen’s great grandmothers were the hit of the shower. The game def opened up the floor for some awesome comments. We all found out that Little Mama and Big Daddy still got it πŸ˜‰

And Mema was priceless. I’ll never forget “if I saw another one of those again I’d probably faint” hahahaha

Lindsey aka Miss Competitive!

Jolee

Lindsey won!!! It was a very game appropriate prize πŸ˜‰

The next game was one where a bunch of baby items were in each bag and we had to guess, by feeling alone, what they were

Aunt Myrle was the winner!

Lindsey wanted to make sure we all knew she scored 100% on the game too but didn’t win since she already won the first game.

Present time!
Kye has LOVED the Sophie the giraffe that Liz got for Blitzen…he keeps saying “baby will share this with me”

baby blanket from Mema and Jolee

oral care set from Lindsey (are you proud Kelly?)

Aunt Karen WAS there but crept out early on…diapers are always appreciated though!

Aunt Myrle got this signature picture thing that I think would be neat to have at the hospital so everyone can sign it when they come to visit πŸ™‚

snack cups and teethers – thanks to Auntie Chrissy who couldn’t be there!

LOTS of white onesies…boys and girls need ’em right?

YAY! Pack and Play to match our new house for Independent Playtime thanks to Gramma!

Gramma also wrote a little song for Blitzen and made me sing it…I kinda spoke/sang it and you can watch it here.

Boppy head support, boppy cover, pack and play sheets from Courtney and Casey

Sweet little lamb (not going in the crib!) and adorable book from Sarah

Can’t wait to try out these Booby Tubes πŸ˜‰

New floor mirror since Kye’s got broken…thanks to G-Mama!

and a new bouncer to match the house too (I’m all about my baby stuff matching my house and since we moved none of Kye’s stuff matches now…I know I’m dumb…)

My thank you gifts for Casey and Courtney – totally stole from Pinterest!

I am VERY blessed with a wonderful set of in-laws. The entire Parker clan has embraced me and welcomed me as their own (it took awhile but we’re there for the most part anyways!). I knew when we did a family shower that it’d really be a Parker shower. My family is SO spread out everywhere and most of Zach’s family all lives near or in Valdosta. I’m SO thankful Mom lives here now as I can always count on having one of my family members at things, but it meant the WORLD to me that Liz (and Ben) drove up from Gainesville to be at the shower!!!! Ben is my cousin on my mom’s side and I’ve gotten to meet Liz only a couple of times before the shower. I was so (happily!) surprised that they made the trip up for the shower and I can’t say enough how special it was to me to have her there! We got to spend the day together and have AWESOME girl time and now I know her so well (and love her too!). We have such a BIG family that when we are all together it’s hard to visit with people one-on-one so spending that quality time together was so special to me. They even said they hope to come up when Blitzen is born! How sweet is that?!?!

It also meant a lot to me that Sarah came to the shower. She was the only person from church who came and it was very sweet of her. I know a lot of people don’t like baby showers and I didn’t expect a lot of people from church to come (the church hosts a HUGE shower for your first baby but not for other ones). I’m so glad she came though and got to experience our crazy, silly, fun family πŸ˜‰

And, duh, I loved having Mom there! It’s SO great that she doesn’t have to make a 4 hour drive to be at these type of events anymore!

Who likes my dress? Crissy gave it to me at the other shower, SO adorable!

Mema – the HIT of the party!

(Katie I totally wish you were there…you would have LOVED that shower haha)

Aunt Myrle ALSO drove up from out-of-town to be there!!! She came up from Jacksonville just for my shower! She’s Mema’s sister and reminds me a lot of Nana because she’s so well put together. She had a good time and it was so sweet of her to come πŸ™‚

with the hostesses!

Lindsey ALSO drove up for the weekend!!! She’s Zach’s cousin (well like second cousin or something…these Parkers consider everyone their cousin haha) and we have gotten to know each other better through this wonderful online world πŸ˜‰ She’s pregnant too (With a girl! I tried to get her to hold out for the surprise but I lost that battle!) and she is hilarious. I seriously wish we lived closer b/c we’d totally be bffs. Zach was always very close to her brother, Travis, and Lindsey reminds me a lot of him. She’s funny, very honest, and is filled with personality. We stayed LONG after the shower had officially ended and all sat around Mrs. Charlotte’s kitchen talking and laughing together.

It was SUCH a fun morning. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in a long time and it was special to me to see how much effort Casey and Courtney put into hosting the event. The games were awesome and I LOVED the decorated ornaments. More than anything though the company and the togetherness were the best part! Wonderful memories were made and I’m so thankful for all of my wonderful family πŸ™‚
