Stella and Dot – Bridal Show!

One of my goals this year is to do my very best at my new career with Stella and Dot. I really love the company and the jewelry! I heard about a bridal show in Thomasville and I had to be part of it, and I’m so glad I did it! It wasn’t cheap but it was a TON of fun!

I usually over-stress about stuff like this but this time around I just figured we’d set it all up and figure it out once we got there. The only thing I really spent money on was the big posters I had made up and they turned out great! I’m also thankful to one of my friends, Brandie, who told me to put pictures of some of the celebrities who wear the jewelry on display. We didn’t realize that the peg board wouldn’t be white so the celeb pics helped cover up the ugliness. I was SO happy with the way my booth looked…not bad for a first timer huh?

Celebrities LOVE to wear Stella and Dot and it’s featured ALL the time in magazines on TV shows!

I know there’s several pics of my booth but I’m proud and want to remember it ๐Ÿ˜‰

The chocolate covered pretzels I made were SO yummy

I had the Spring Line Fashion Show Video playing the whole time

and since I can’t afford every piece in the line, I framed several pictures of some of the statement necklaces!

I put some of my favorites on display right beside my drawing to help make a good first impression

and the ADORABLE boxes that each piece comes in make for great displays!

I had a raffle for the Charlotte Charm Necklace and two gift certificates

My mom has been beyond supportive with my new adventure and we always joke that she’s my assistant so who would be better to come with me for my bridal show debut? She was SUCH a huge help and we had some super fun girl time together too!

I’m wearing the Charlotte Charm Necklace (smart marketing for my raffle, duh!), Bardot Bangle Bracelet, and Pearl Bouquet Earrings while Mom is sportin’ her La Coco Silver Pearl Strand and Pearl Drop Earrings

Mrs. Charlotte was sweet enough to drive out there to show her support (it’s like a 45 min drive!). She was a great help too and even wore some of her stuff to help sell it ๐Ÿ™‚ She’s also wearing the La Coco Silver Pearl Strand (I’m telling you it’s an awesome necklace!).

The show was a BLAST. I’m not very bold when talking about Stella and Dot to my friends and family because I don’t want to be annoying or pushy, but with strangers I wasn’t afraid to tell them all about it (I did so much talking I actually LOST my voice)! I met SO many nice people and several who are very interested in hosting a show. I haven’t booked anything directly from the show yet, but I’m hopeful that I will. Especially since I did have such a fun time – I want to be able to do more things like this in the future!!!

What made the day really interesting (it’s me here people, there’s always a story…) is that I wasn’t the only Stella and Dot Stylist there! They accidentally booked two of us. Sure, it’s fine if there’s 5 different photographers or cake places or something at an event like that because they offer different products at different price points. Well me and this lady offer the same product at the same prices. So really the only difference is US. When I found out we were both there, I was a little upset. I’m a “newbie” and figured the other lady would have it way more together than me. Then I met her. Boy, she was MAD that I was there and wasn’t afraid to tell the WORLD about it. Like, everyone she met. I was nice to her but at the end of the event overheard her bad mouthing me. It’s disappointing that she gives the company a bad representation like that. It did make me feel good to meet so many awesome people who told me that they liked my booth better or that I was nicer without me even ever mentioning her ๐Ÿ™‚

Other than the Stella and Dot rep (who is probably reading this right now since she let me know right off the bat that she knew I was coming and she did her research on me…haha), the vendors were GREAT. I met some really sweet people who work with great companies. Several of the other vendors want to get together to do trunk shows! Of all the vendors there though, my favorites hands down was….guess….guess…Javon Longieliere Photography DUH! I was super pumped that he was coming b/c I knew he’d help me feel relaxed if I was nervous. I love him and Dawn, his wife, and Kristen, his sister in law so we had a great time together. I tried to help out his booth as much as I could by always mentioning how much I wish I could go back in time and rent a photo booth for my wedding. They are hands down AWESOME! He owns several photo booths and you don’t have to use him as your photographer to rent the booth either ~ check it out here! Of course Mom and I couldn’t resist ๐Ÿ˜‰

I cannot tell you enough times how much FUN I had. So, SO much fun. I loved every single second of it ๐Ÿ™‚ I could tell that Mom loved seeing me having such a good time too. I think all the people who visited my booth could even tell haha. Here’s my Stella and Dot website so you can check out all the awesome jewelry (and my Stella and Dot Facebook Page so you can “like” me!) Let me know if you ever want to host a trunk show and get some for free (hey, its my blog…if I give Javon a shout-out shouldn’t I give myself one?). I’m hopeful that business will pick up so I can make enough from it to participate in more events soon! Thanks to Mom for all her help and Zach for all his support (and you guys too for dealing with me talking about it on occasion)!

Hi Emily! I joined Stella & Dot a little after you (end of March) but am loving it so far! I have my first "Expo" coming up and one of them is a Bridal event and I found your blog while researching different ways Stylists have set up their displays at these trade show type events. Are you in North Carolina? I love to find out how your career as a Stylist is progressing!
