Meet A Fellow Disney Addict: Heather!

Hi, I’m Heather!  And I’m a Disney addict. 🙂

I’m also a wife, a mother of four, a Licensed Professional Counselor (I work in a middle school!), a Georgia Bulldogs fan, and a Disney Vacation Planner.  I’m basically living the dream (or, at least, my dream)!

I’m not new to blogging–in fact, I post weekly Disney tips and tricks over at My Magical Mouse Adventures–and I’m excited to guest blog here…but in the spirit of honesty, I’ve got admit that finding a focus for this post has been a bit of struggle for me.

That is, until tonight.  Tonight, I had the opportunity to meet with a family and simply talk Disney. I’m helping them plan their very first trip to the “happiest place on earth,” and as we began to talk, I was asked to name five of my favorite Disney experiences (aside from rides and attractions).

I smiled so much just thinking about them that I decided to share my five favorites with you as well. Thanks for indulging me!

In no particular order, here they are:

1.  Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure at Epcot

Believe it or not, Epcot has become one of our family’s favorite parks!  We love exploring the various countries in the World Showcase by using state-of-the-art technology to help Agent P search for the clues needed to help stop Dr. Doofenshmirtz (of Phineas and Ferb fame) from carrying out his devious plans!  Even if your kiddos have never heard of Phineas and Ferb, this adventure is full of FUN surprises and absolutely makes the World Showcase come to life!

2.  Magic Kingdom’s Kiss Goodnight

This short display of lights and music takes place about 20-30 minutes after Magic Kingdom closes for the evening.  Not many guests know about the Kiss Goodnight, and even fewer stick around to actually witness and/or take part in it.  While the light display isn’t necessarily long in duration, it’s a super sweet and somewhat magical way to end a day at Disney.

3.  Free Resort Fun.

So often, guests make the assumption that Disney magic can only be experienced inside the parks.  Nothing could be further from the truth!  Whether it’s learning to hula dance at The Polynesian, viewing animals on the savanna through night vision goggles at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the shores of The Grand Floridian, or enjoying a campfire with Chip and Dale at Fort Wilderness, free Disney fun abounds!  Guests staying at each particular Disney resort have access to phenomenal pools as well!

4.  The Dining Experiences.

Whether it’s a character meal, a buffet, a themed dinner show, or a fancy restaurant, dining at Disney is an experience in and of itself.  I post dining reviews on my blog periodically, but I also work with families to help select the best dining experiences possible!!  Dining experiences are such a great way to add extra magic to a trip–and with so many different locations, cuisine, and character appearances, there’s always something new to try!

5.  The Memories.

I know it’s cliche’, but there’s something about Disney that, at least for my family, enables us to leave reality behind for a just a little bit and create a magical, shared experience that truly doesn’t fade away.  While we may not always be able to recall exact details from our trips, the feelings remain–the love, the laughter, the silliness, and the opportunity to enjoy time together as a family without the pressures and stress of the outside world–it shapes us, bonds us, and makes us better.   It’s the reason we “do Disney,” and it’s the reason we’ll continue to “do Disney” whenever we can. 🙂

It’s also the reason I became a Disney Vacation Planner.  While I enjoy helping families make the most of their Disney World vacations, what I really love most is helping families create memories that will serve to strengthen their family bond for years to come.  I’d love to help your family create a Disney vacation that fits both your dreams and your budget (with as little as stress as possible!).  Working with a Vacation Planner is free (seriously–no strings attached!), so feel free to check out my blog or send me an email at heather@mmadventures.net.  You can also head over to www.mmadventures.net, to learn a little more about our agency.

Hope to see ya’ real soon!
