We scheduled Brittlynn's 1 year photos for Dec 1st. Her party was on the 8th and I wanted to have some of the pictures on display at the party...and wanted to use some of the pics for our Christmas card this year! It's WONDERFUL with Britt no longer having an evening nap. We had so much more time! Originally Lindsay and I wanted to do the shoot at Hambrick's Tree Farm. With how rough our tree farm experience was I figured that was a no-go. Since she seems to dislike dirt (like her mama...) I suggested to go downtown to do them. Lots of concrete...no dirt :)
It was JAMMED with other people taking pictures but that didn't slow us down! Here are all my favorites from the shoot! Of course we used Captured By Colson yet again. Lindsay is pregnant with baby #2 so if you're looking to do pics be sure to book her quick before that baby arrives and she takes some time off to adjust ;)
I really love how our colors came together. It was the most stressful coordinating situation. Britt's dress I already told you about (here)...Kye's tie I happened to see on Zulily one day for only $5! Score! But Zach and I didn't have ANYTHING to match them. I hunted on our trip to Atl (like legit I carried around Britt's dress with me) and found my shirt at Express then I got the necklace from a groupdeals offer I saw on Facebook. I regret wearing the tank top under the shirt...I thought it was possibly too low cut so I wore a cami and I look SO frumpy :( Boo! Zach's shirt was a DAY of decision. I learned my lesson and WILL be selecting all of his photo shoot outfits in advance from now on ;) I'm thankful it all flows so well! It was not an easy task this time around!
You can click on all of these to make them bigger! I'd love to know your favorites!
I have to give another HUGE shout-out to Ivy at I'm With Love Designs!!!
Britt has been SO unhappy during any picture taking lately so I was BIG TIME prepared for this photo session. I brought toys, snacks, all kinds of goodies. I even bought each kid a new ball (in coordinating colors!) to help keep them happy ;) Kye LOVED it!
Yes, her mermaid was another keep her happy prop ;)
I happened to see these letters while I was buying stuff for her party...Thought it would be cute for the photos! I may or may not have returned them after though...
Zach and I were SO PROUD of Kye! Seriously! The kid is amazing. He played all by himself and we never once had to worry about him. We could focus completely on Britt and he was perfectly content. The little ally is surrounded by BUSY streets on both sides but we can trust Kye not to throw the ball in the street and to not run off. We are blessed!
LOVE to see her smiling ;)
I seriously can't believe Britt didn't spend the whole session SOBBING like she normally did whenever I tried to take pics of her!!! Both of the kids did GREAT and I'm sad that we won't be having another photo session until July! We decided to just wait for Kye's 4 year pics and combine them with Britt's 18 month pics since at this age Kye doesn't change as much as she does as quickly. I can't wait to see what fun things Lindsay comes up with for us :) I gotta start thinking up what we'll wear ;)
