Sleep? What's Sleep?

I have yet to experience many of the pregnancy symptoms I have read about: Still never hungry, no true I'll-die-if-I-don't-get-to-eat-this cravings, no nose bleeds, and (thankfully!) no hemroids.

However I am experiencing a couple of the major pregnancy side effects. My tummy itches a lot (I am scratching it more than I am rubbing it haha), I have to "tinkle" (your welcome Mom...) constantly, and sleeping is no longer a luxury I enjoy!

I am not tired as much as I was earlier on (especially now that knock-on-wood the headaches seem to be gone) and I have a hard time falling asleep. Once I finally get to sleep I wake up SO easily!!! And once I wake up I can't go back to sleep at all! Do I have to "tinkle" during the night? Yes...but do I get up to do it? Not usually! I'm too afraid that once I get up I won't be able to go back to sleep!

Zach has been working a TON lately and so he's been waking up pretty early in the mornings. I am pretty much up when he is! This morning he woke up at 5 to use the bathroom so I figured I might as well go too. Then the dog needed to go out to go potty. Then I realized it was 60 degrees in our house b/c we didn't turn on the heat! So I turned it on and got back into bed and not 10 minutes later the smoke alarm went off because it was the first time our heater had been run! Then Zach's alarm went off at 6! I ended up just staying up and watched t.v. and thankfully took an hour nap from 8:30 to 9:30!

And what was keeping me awake? The dogs? The freezing house? Nope! The baby! This little girl/boy is very active at night and in the mornings and I realized this morning that she/he is even more active when I'm usually sleeping! Once I was awake it wouldn't STOP moving enough for me to fall back asleep! I think this is the Lord's way of preparing me for motherhood!!! After a few more weeks of this (let alone after a few more months) I think I'll be well prepared!!!

Adult Type Issues

Thinking about the changes in our life ahead we've had to face some things that really make me realize how grown-up we are now! With a baby on the way we have to plan for the future...think about saving for retirement...getting Zach a decent sized life policy...having some sort of policy to cover our morgage if something happened to him...decide who would care for our child if something happened to both of us!

Dealing with these types of issues is really difficult because it makes us have to think about our death and the idea that our child could potentially be left without parents! I really hope that all parents and all expecting parents think about these things too because I can't imagine what would happen if we didn't!!!

We decided that in January we're going to meet with Zach's dad, who does financial planning now, and get all of these things in order. We also have a really good lawyer that helped us with our old house (that mess!!!) who we plan to talk to about writing up a will and how to deal with what money would go to who.

Tonight we met with Zach's Aunt Karen and her husband Barry about being the caregivers of our child if something were to happen to both of us. It was a very difficult decision as to who we'd choose for such an important role. First Christianity was key for both of us. Next we didn't want any of our parents being the ones to take the child as we feel like grandparents are supposed to get to spoil their grandchildren not raise them. Then we wanted a married couple who we felt would be willing and most of all would love our child as their own. Karen and Barry really fit all of these things and we're so glad they said yes!

We plan to re-evaluate the decision with each child we have but I think both Zach and I will sleep a little better tonight knowing that we have ONE of the BIG decisions MADE and finalized!!!

My Pre-Bday Celebration

We left Friday for Melbourne! It's been sooo long since we've been down there and it was a really nice trip! I managed to stay awake the whole way and Zach and I enjoyed some nice conversation.

Saturday morning we got up and went Garage Saling! We found some great deals on books (and decided we have to get a book shelf for the baby's room for sure now!) and we even found maternity clothes! I was pretty pumped about it...Zach was the most pumped about the set of 12 Bible Story Books we found for $5.

At 4 we went to an early dinner with Mom and Nana for my birthday celebration. We went to The Cove because it's one of Mom and Nana's favorite places to eat and they have recently redone the whole place.

I'm just glad I got to celebrate with Nana! Her health has not been super awesome lately and I cherish each moment we get to spend together. I told her a long time ago to stop buying gifts and so she gave me one of her bracelets for my bday gift :)

We went to her house afterwards and showed her the newest ultrasound video. I mean it's not as cool as I thought it would be but Zach does an awesome job narrating it so we can actually tell what's what! Nana cried which was so sweet. No matter what happens she's gotten to see my baby which makes me feel good :)

Mom got me a cute cake that said "Happy Birthday MTB (mom-to-be)" It was soo good! She also got me *adorable* maternity clothes! It's great because I'm at the point where I just want to wear maternity stuff and I didn't have anything but the stuff Crissy let me borrow so now I have everything I need!
That night Zach got to feel the baby moving for the first time! It was really neat and made me want to find ways to make the baby move more so we can feel it more often!
Sunday we went to breakfast with the whole family and it was great to see everyone (except Jonathan which was sad for me). Then we ate lunch with Autumn and Walter at Bagel World. I've been friends with Autumn since freshman year in high school and it's so nice that we still keep in touch and get together at our old favorite hang out almost everytime we're in town.
Although it was a fun trip I was sad because OF COURSE our baby furniture got delivered while we were gone! Katie was super sweet to come to the house and let the delivery guy in (but he's adorable so she was lucky haha). Both Zach and I were very excited to get home so we could see it all finally!

He put together the crib tonight and the room is ready to be decorated! We're just missing the ottoman (probably getting it next week) and the actual bedding (won't be in until late Janruary). But all the bedding accessories came so we can still decorate based off those colors! I'm excited for Crissy to come over to help me decide some ideas!

Baby on the Move!

YAY!!!

About 30 min. ago I was laying in bed with the dogs watching tv starting to wake up when I felt the intense bubbly feeling I've had for the past couple days now. I thought it was my uterus expanding but I read that can be kind of painful and this feeling isn't painful at all...just different.

So I put my hand on the outside of my tummy and I can feel it there too! As soon as I got up I dug around for my What to Expect When You're Expecting book (the first time I've actually looked at it haha). And YUP! I'm feeling the baby move!!!!

I can't WAIT until Zach gets home so I can see if he can feel it too! This is so exciting :)

Half-Way to the Finish Line!

So while in California I hit the 19th week of my pregnancy! It seems like it is FLYING by!!! It's really hard to believe that I'm about half-way there and I hope the next 4 1/2 months go by as quickly as the past 4 1/2 have so I can hold my baby!!! I'm so ready!

Since Ashley, my usual tummy picture taker, wasn't with us I tried to do one myself but it didn't work so great!
So these ones will have to work that Zach took for me!

I have been suffering from very bad intense migraines since I hit the 13th week but it seems like (knock on wood) that they could be behind me! I'm feeling so much better now! Also while on the trip I woke up one morning with very bad upper back pain and my neck was killing me! We decided my size Small sports bra that I've been sleeping in will no longer cut it. I went to Victoria's Secret today and get measured and I have gone from a 34C to a 36D! I couldn't believe that!

Everyone tells me that the "girls" will never be the same after having the baby, especially after nursing, but really who cares? The only thing that bugs me is that I have several awesome 34c bras that may not ever get worn again! I already decided that the next time I change size (because I guess they can STILL get bigger than this!) that I'll go ahead and invest in nursing bras so I'll have them once the baby gets here :) Victoria's Secret has just come out with some so I'm pumped for that!
While being bigger in the chest is annoying I am glad that my chest still sticks out more than my belly but I'm sure that will change with time. My belly button is still an inny but it feel so funny and looks so flat! Also, thank the Lord, my stupid hole from my belly button ring (that I took out 3 years ago but STILL has not healed shut) hasn't stretched yet.
I have noticed more stretch marks on my chest and on my thighs. All the stretch marks are on the sides though so they aren't that noticeable and I just keep rubbing that Cocoa Butter and cross my fingers they will fade someday! A lady today told me that if I only gain in my tummy that it's a boy and that if I can everywhere it's a girl...I have no clue if I'm gaining everywhere or not!
I am to that in-between stage where my regular clothes don't fit but my maternity stuff is too big! And STILL not ONE person has noticed that I'm pregnant! I promise that the first stranger who comes up to me and asks me when I'm due or how far along I am that I will HUG them!!! I can't wait for that moment because that will officially mean that I am no longer beer-gut girl and have evolved to pregnant-girl!
On the plane from Atl to Ca the lady in front of us was on the Aflac trip too and she was pregnant, due in Dec! Her belly was much more obvious and it was slightly annoying that she was getting all kinds of special attention and just because I don't look pregnant to anyone I didn't get any :(
While in Asheville, NC on the Aflac trip back in July we met a girl another who was pregnant and due in March like me but of course I couldn't say anything because we hadn't told anyone yet. I saw her again in California and she looked so much more pregnant than I do! It does kind of worry me a bit because it seems like I am so behind where I should be with showing...but the doctor says I'm perfectly healthy so I try not to let it bug me! I know once I get HUGE I'll be thankful for this time! haha!
I've been feeling the uterus pains the past couple days so I know that my uterus is expanding to make more room for our baby (look how huge it is in the 3d picture!)! They don't really hurt just feel like intense bubbles in my lower tummy. I'm less tired and sleeping better so I think I'm about to finally get to the whole the-second-trimester-is-awesome phase! It's about time!
We're still waiting for our baby furniture to arrive but I ordered our baby bedding! The actual crib bedding is back ordered until late Janurary but the accessories should be here soon so we can start planning the room! I know I want to do bright paint colors and incorporate animals somehow, I'm hoping Crissy can help me because Stevie's baby room is awesome!
Here's a link to our bedding! http://www.diaperbagboutique.com/asp/show_detail.asp?sku=HOP1120&refid=FR93-HOP1120

Kirk Cameron is my Hero!

I have always known Kirk Cameron as Mike Seaver from the t.v. show Growing Pains. I wasn't a HUGE fan of the show because I was a little young for it (I'm more a Saved By The Bell and Full House girl!).

Part of our trip with Aflac to San Diego included a Prayer Breakfast where Kirk Cameron was the speaker. This event turned out to be my FAVORITE thing that we did while visiting California!

Kirk started out talking about his Growing Pains experience and did a little 60 second display of his character on the show, Mike Seaver (see the video at the bottom of this post!) He then quickly switched gears and talked about his latest movie, Fireproof. It is a Christian movie made in Albany, GA by the same people who did the football movie Facing the Giants.

I have been wanting to see Fireproof as it's about marriage between Christians! He showed a trailer and while the acting didn't look so awesome, the concept behind the movie seems worthwhile. He told us that everyone in the movie did it for FREE and the total budget for the film was only $500,000 (which he said no movie is made for under 2 million today!). The movie, although only released in under 900 theaters (compared to the 3,000+ theaters most movies go to), was #3 in the box office opening weekend.

He told us a little insider tip as well...he said he never kisses any woman other than his wife! Even for a movie roll! So the scene in Fireproof where he and his wife in the movie kiss they actually flew in his REAL wife to stand in and kiss him!!!

After telling us about the movie he then went on to tell us about his experience of becoming a Christian and this is where I gained so much respect for him. He was 17 and a huge teen heart throb when he went with a girl he liked to church. He talked about how he was so successful and that he didn't see a need for God in his life when he already had it all!
But someone approached him about the 10 commandments and how they work as a mirror to see ourselves. He used his personal experience in becoming a Christian to preach to us! It was AWESOME and the room (probably around 800 people or more) was SILENT. He talked about lying, drinking, and sex outside of marriage! He even used my favorite go-to verse about even that lusting is committing adultery.
He told us about the Gospel and how to become a Christian! He pulled out his Bible and read God's Word to the crowd! Is that not so inspiring? It made me think not only highly of him as a man but highly of the company we work for. Aflac paid for him to speak at that breakfast. They knew what he'd talk about and they hired him anyway! Not many companies would ever consider such a speaker! Who would want to risk offending people that work for them? It made me very proud that we can say we are part of such a company!
Kirk Cameron is an awesome individual who, at 17, did things that most people much much older and with much less fame and wealth would ever consider doing! He pretty much turned his back on a successful career to spread God's Word. He got married young and has six children with his wife. He practices what he preaches and puts God first in all areas of his life.
Zach and I plan on seeing the movie this Thursday and I can't wait! They also have a book study to do at home between husband and wife which may be cool as well :) I just wanted to share this experience with others as it really touched my life and made me think that if he could live his life so fully for the Lord then I have no excuse not to either!!!

California Here We Come!

We went to San Diego for Zach's first Aflac National Convention! It was great because Aflac flew us out of Valdosta so the travel was pretty easy and free so we couldn't complain about it! We've been stuck in Valdosta for awhile now and I was really in need of a vacation!

Since there is a 3 hour time change I was out of it when we arrived so all day Wednesday we just slept and relaxed before dinner. We got hooked up with a great room at the Manchester Grand Hyatt! Check out our view!!!

The first night we got to eat aboard the USS Midway. The food wasn't as awesome as some of the other meals but it was neat to be aboard such a huge aircraft carrier! One thing about Aflac trips is that everyone gets totally wasted at everything because they not only provide free food, they also have unlimited alcohol. It makes it hard for Zach and I to have a good time when so many people are totally wasted but we got lucky at the table we sat at and made friends with an older couple and a girl from my town, Boston!
Aflac "only" provided flight, hotel, meals, extra meal money and tickets to the zoo so we had 2 free days to fill! Since I haven't been to San Diego since I was nine I didn't really know what all we could do and we really didn't want to spend the money on a taxi (and nothing was near by the hotel!). We got lucky and right outside the hotel was this little village filled with shops and a beautiful boardwalk so we spent the day shopping and walking around!

The next day was a ton of walking! We went with the Aflac gang to the San Diego Zoo! This picture is the same picture I took when I was nine and went with my dad in front of the hippos so I had to do a repeat :)

By the way...how do you like the hair? My hair lady taught me how to do it wavy and I'm testing it out and practicing so it will look good for when I go to the delivery room! haha!

We really got some great pictures of the animals! The gorillas were the most active, we saw two get in a fight!
Zach has always been anti-zoos. He has said since we started dating that he'd never take his kids to a zoo! I'm so glad we went because right when we got there we met a lady with her three kids and we sat with them on the tour bus, then saw them at the reptile house, then happened to sit with them at the sealion show. Interacting with them was so neat because they were so excited by everything! Zach said he still doesn't love zoos but that he had fun and that he will for sure go with us with the kids (or kid until we have another one haha)! So it was a very successful day for me :)
It was nice having money from Aflac so we could eat when we wanted to! We got a yummy yummy snow cone! Of course it was kids get in free month so the place was CRAWLING with horrible behaving hispanic children but we still had a great day together! We even stayed later than the Aflac buses and caught a taxi back to the hotel to get ready for our date night at the pier :)

Aflac had some wonderful speakers! Kirk Cameron was the best (more on him in another blog entry) but Zach really enjoyed the Political Breakfast. This married couple spoke and they have complete opposite political views!
This is Mary Matalin and she is a McCain fan! We each got a republican duck and a democratic one to take home with us (Levi is enjoying his new democrat duck as a toy...haha! While the republican one will have a home in the baby's room!).
Her husband, James Carville, also spoke and he's an Obama Man. It was very interesting to hear from both of them as they have both worked with several presidents during their careers! I can't imagine them being married but they teased each other and laughed about their different views! I'm not that into politics but it was fun and Zach loved it!

The rest of the day was another free time so we rode the San Diego Trolley and went to Old Town. It wasn't as cool as St Augustine's downtown area but we had such a fun day together being silly and making jokes! I fell in love with a blue necklace but Zach just isn't as awesome as a gift giver as I am (just kidding baby! haha). I think we both agree that even though the day's events weren't that awesome that our time together made it one of the best days of the whole trip (I know I'm a little cheesy!)
After going on our first big Aflac trip we know how to work it now! From now one we'll be bringing an extra suitcase because at every meal they give away the centerpieces! We won (or got someone to give us) ALL of them!!! I was pumped but Zach didn't have fun trying to pack all this stuff! The last night we ate a farewell dinner and the centerpiece was the coolest one of the whole trip. I wanted it so bad but some drunk chick at our table won it :( When I went to use the bathroom all the women were talking about how great the centerpieces were so I joined in and went on and on about how much I wanted it! Some girl whispered to me that she may not want hers and asked for my table number and by the end of the night she brought it over to me! I'm so lucky!!

And yes, all the centerpieces made it home safely :) At the Fairwell Dinner we made good friends with an older couple who have kids our age. The "mom" was so sweet! They asked us our baby names and since we won't ever see them again we told them! It was so awesome getting to tell someone! And they liked them which felt nice! We met another elderly couple at the airport in Atlanta and told them too haha they liked them too and even helped us decide on the spelling for one of them!

Overall San Diego is a great town! We didn't have any really rude people. We even had a stranger on the street give us $5 when we asked him if he had change. Everywhere we went we met nice people...we even made friends with a couple from New York when we were on the trolley. Surprisingly the town was not as liberal as we thought it would be...there were even two men outside our hotel quoting Romans and saying to keep marriage sacred. We were both impressed with the town, the people, and the awesomeness of Aflac! Can't wait for New York next year!

Magic Eye Baby

Had our 18 week ultrasound on Monday...I was SO excited since the last ultrasound turned out so great I was sure this one would be even better since the baby is so much bigger and more developed!

Of course nothing ever goes how I plan! Here is the picture. Yup, that's our baby. If you stare at it without blinking for 30 seconds you may be able to tell! haha. Where the little arrow is pointing is the face. The big round thing is the stomach. It's little hand is rubbing it's left eye if that helps at all! Disappointing huh?

The good news is that the baby is very healthy...heartbeat was around 146 and weight is 8 oz. They said that even though I have all that confusion about my due date that it is March 12th so we'll see if I'm right or if they are when the delivery day actually arrives!

The tech girl could tell the sex!!! It was very tempting to find out but we didn't. She even pulled the whole "i can write it down and seal it in an envelope" thing and we said NO for sure about that! I know it'd be waaaay too tempting!!!

I'm really putting my hopes in our 4d ultrasound in December, with the high cost of it we BETTER get a good picture :)

Thankfully once I was able to figure out how to see this picture I do know this child does not have Daddy's nose like we once thought...I think it's more my nose...which is a good thing! haha

I'm almost half-way there! We're off to California until Sunday so I'll update then about our trip and some new tummy pictures!!!

Baby Boom!

It seems like babies and pregnant women are popping up everywhere! I don't know if it's just because I'm pregnant so I notice them more or if, even if this crappy economy, people are just having lots of babies!

I have several friends: Rachael, Kecia, Dani, etc. that are pregnant which is exciting! We also found out on Sunday that Courtney is having another one! YES ANOTHER ONE!

She just had Colt in May and this baby will be due ONE DAY after Colt's first birthday! And it's due only two months after our baby! It's very crazy news and totally not expected at all. While I'm happy for her and Brad of course I also have other feelings regarding it.

Can you imagine having 2 babies less than a year apart in age? All the diapers? Plus Courtney and Brad both work so Mrs. Charlotte will be taking care of both babies during the work day! Can you imagine the work load for her? I'm glad it's Courtney rather than me that's for sure!

Also while it's great that our baby will have two cousins so close in age...it also means that our baby's first everything will be her baby's first everything...which is not so exciting! They will also be in the same grade throughout school and everything! It's a lot to take in that's for sure!

ohhhh nooooo

So I was just checking my facebook and scratching the side of my stomach when I felt something wrong...and so I looked down and I don't believe it...I really don't....STRETCH MARKS!!!!
I'm a HUGE HUGE Cocoa Butter user (and have always been since high school) so HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? ALREADY??? I'm hyperventilating. It will probably only be getting worse from here won't it? Maybe they are just more noticeable b/c I'm pretty tan right now...maybe they will go away after the baby. They could go away right? right? My poor poor body will NEVER be the same :(

Busy Weekend in Atlanta

Back when we found out Zach won the Triple Crown Aflac trip to Atlanta we thought we wouldn't bother going since we have been to Atlanta a million times and did not want to have to tour the Aflac Worldwide Headquarters again in Columbus. Then I found out that Katie Lee, one of my favorite people from "childhood," was getting married the same weekend as the trip so we figured we could go to the wedding and the trip at the same time!

We left on Friday and the highlight of my weekend was eating dinner with Danielle! It is always so refreshing (really REFRESHING is how I feel!) to see her! We don't get to see each other often but everytime I do get to visit with her I always leave feeling so much more like myself :)

Aflac really does do it all top notch and we got free tickets to the Georgia Aquarium...it was the beginning of a very long day for a pregnant girl! Let's just say after this day I decided when we go to San Diego in a couple weeks that we should not rent a car and drive 2 hours to L.A. for the day like I originally wanted!

We were THE FIRST people into the aquarium for the day! I've been before and wouldn't probably ever pay the $30 to go again but since it was free why not?

We finished the whole aquarium in ONE HOUR flat! It was pretty fun and we did talk about how much fun it will be to take our baby to stuff like that when she or he is old enough to enjoy it :)
My favorite part is touching stuff! They have a lot of "stuff" you can touch including sea anemones, sting rays, shrimp, star fish, and even sharks! It was so cool!!!

Zach had to go down the kiddie slide and some lady that worked there went on and on about how we can win bar bets now because we know that Georgia's state aquatic animal is the Right Whale (named that b/c it is the right whale to hunt...ha. ha. ha.).

The busy day continued after a loooong horrible walk up a steep hill back to the hotel where we had to get showered, eat lunch, and head to Roswell for the wedding!

We had a gift wrap fiasco...I realized the night before we left that we didn't have enough wrapping paper to wrap their wedding gift so Zach said he would go to Walmart and get some. Well then he forgot. So we went to a CVS after dinner with Danielle and bought some "silver" paper which turned out to be perfectly clear. So we figured we'd stop and get some on the way but once we got off the exit to the wedding we didn't see ANY drugstores. We tried a dollar store without luck. So we went to the wedding then RUSHED out after the ceremony to go to Publix and paid $5 for this wrapping paper! Then we pulled to the side of the road and I wrapped the present haha

I didn't really think about how I'd see a bunch of high school people at the wedding. Katie and I went to high school together and her now husband also went to high school with us so I should have figured that I'd see some old faces but I just didn't think about it!

It was HILARIOUS because an usher sat us down on a row and I had to pee immediatly so I turn to the couple next to me and ask where the bathroom is and realize it's a girl who has pretty much hated me since the eighth grade haha. Then I realize the usher who sat us was the guy I was "talking" too while dating Mark and when I met Zach! And another guy was there who I once made out with and who was the most horrible kisser of my life. Zach got a kick out of all of this since I have met every single one of his exes or hook-ups or whatever and he's never met any of mine! He enjoyed making fun of each of the guys and later said the wedding was the highlight of the weekend! haha!

It was a beautiful ceremony and a fun reception! I enjoyed it and getting to see some of the people who I liked back in the day :) Katie was a beautiful bride as well!

We rushed from the wedding back to the hotel and had 30 minutes to get ready for the big Aflac Awards Dinner. I wore one of my go-to dresses but by the end of the night this thing was KILLING ME!!!! Time for maternity wear...and I was so thankful to sneak out of the dinner right after dessert so I could be asleep by 9:30!

Indulging in a Craving = a Bigger Baby Belly!

I know I have blogged before about my main pregnancy cravings and the number one item on that list has ALWAYS been Choco Tacos. I first wanted one when Zach and I were in Asheville, NC and he wouldn't buy it for me because it was $3.50 (a rip-off I admit). Of course Taco Bell's no longer sell them and you can't buy them at either of our walmarts, our publix, or any of our gas stations. I've heard that one Mexican restaurant has them but I haven't actually tried going in there for one, at least not yet!

Well on our way to Atlanta Friday afternoon we stopped to get gas and I now LOVE the city of Vidalia! I was heading to the bathroom in the gas station and just did my routine peek at the ice cream bar box thing and there it was!!! I was pumped!!!

It isn't a secret that I've been wanting one f o r e v e r. I was totally prepared to devour all 290 calories as quickly as possible but of course my husband wanted a bite! Lucky for me he just took a tiny tiny one :)

I soooo look like I belong on the show The Biggest Loser in this picture haha! It was soooo good though and I did something I never do ever and got it on both my shirt and pants somehow! So if it was yummy enough to risk my clothes over it...then that says how amazing it was :)

Everything in life has a consequence. I met up with Kecia, who is due 2 days before I am, on Thursday to compare pregnancy notes and she was so much bigger than me already! It made me think something could be wrong with me or that maybe she is having twins and doesn't know it or something! She is already wearing maternity clothes and having people comment on her cute tummy while I'm still walking around in my normal clothes just sporting a "beer gut."

Thanks to my Choco Taco all of that changed...I left Valdosta a chubby version of Emily and came home a pregnant version!

This is me at 17 weeks pregnant!!! Can you believe the change? It is probably about that time where I should start wearing my maternity tops (I'm still good with my low rise pants!) because I don't want to risk stretching out my regular clothes!

Zach and I are both pretty excited about it! It makes the whole pregnancy feel more real to us I think! Of course I'm not really wanting the tummy to get any bigger but I know that it will happen anyway! It's so funny though because as a woman I KNOW when I have gained weight. I can always tell around "that time of the month" that I've put on 2 or 3 pounds and I have always known when it's time to start downing the Slim Fast to keep the pounds in check.

But this is so so so different! I FEEL the same! I just look down and look bigger! So strange! I even weighed myself this morning and I have only gained a pound since last time I weighed...so why is the tummy so much bigger? Wouldn't you think I would feel a difference?

Also by the way I can confirm kicking feelings! I was pretty sure I was feeling them all along but Kecia told me she usually feels her's when she is laying down and that's the same for me! To be 100% honest, it's cool but it feels so much like gas that it's not life-changing or emotional or anything, at least not yet :)

I was excited for Ashley to see my tummy when we got home because she is obsessed with it and always comments everytime she sees me on whether or not I look pregnant that day. This is her face when I pulled up my shirt and showed her the belly! So priceless!

Lots of Unknowns

Supposedly any day now I should be able to feel kicking! But I am clueless as to what that kicking will feel like. Everything I read says it will be similar to little gas bubbles in my stomach but then how do I know if it's kicking or just gas? I'm pretty sure I've probably felt it but it's not as awesome as I thought it would be because I am not positive that what I feel is kicking!

I wrote something about it on my facebook and Rachael sent me a link to a website that calculates when you should feel the kicking (or I think the official name is quickening or something). I was all excited about it but then it asked for the typical pregnancy calculator question: First Date of Your Last Menstrual Period.
Again another big unknown! Sure my last real one was on May 14th so I type that in and it tells me my baby will be due on Feb. 18th (almost a month sooner than the due date the dr has me down for). So that must be wrong right? So I try the next time I had any signs of a "Menstrual Period" which was an odd one on June 14th. It tells me my due date is March 21st (my original due date). I know that can't be right because when we saw that ultrasound picture our baby WAS bigger than it should have been and that is why they changed my due date.
So something is off. The dr. told me that we conceived on or close to June 5th. Well then that means the June 14th mini-period was just implantation spotting and my last true "First Date of Menstrual Period" was on the May 14th and my due date is MUCH later than it should be.
SOOOO ANNOYING! I am a very well planned person and since I knew we were trying to get pregnant I kept excellent track of my info. So what's the deal?
I talked with Autumn yesterday who will be taking pictures for us during delivery (yay!) and told her it should be somewhere around March 12th...what if it is a whole month early because the dates are wrong? Will they say my baby is a preemie because it isn't born when they said it should be? I know Crissy had similar issues with this and I understand her pain much more now!
Katie bought me a subscription to Fit Pregnancy and Parenting which I am loving them both! However, reading the Fit Pregnancy one this morning brought about another unknown! My dr. office said my cure for migraines is to take 2 extra strength tylenol and drink 1 mountain dew EVERY three hours...and this article said mothers who use tylenol while pregnant give their babies a 70% greater chance of having asthma! So now should I trust that article or my dr?
The dr. also said spray tanning is fine so I ordered an at home system and then there is a whole article in there about how it's ok for just your face and maybe arms but that you don't want to do it too often or too much because the DHA in it can seep through your skin and affect the uterus. GRRR I AM SO ANNOYED RIGHT NOW!!! I want REAL answers not more questions!!!
